We're thrilled to introduce our latest content upgrade, AKA Content 6, a significant leap forward in enhancing your Carbide experience. With this upgrade, we've revitalized various aspects of the platform, making your cybersecurity and privacy management even more robust and effective. Let's delve into what's been updated and how it benefits you.
What’s Updated
Organizational Controls
Our upgraded Organizational Controls are at the core of this Content 6 update. These newly updated org controls will replace existing org controls, aligning your cybersecurity framework with the latest standards and best practices.
Tasks
Our revamped list of tasks provides a more dynamic and comprehensive approach to managing your cybersecurity responsibilities. You'll find an array of newly added tasks that are meticulously mapped to our updated Organizational Controls. These new tasks are designed to reflect the latest developments in the cybersecurity landscape, ensuring you're well-prepared to tackle current challenges.
To maintain continuity, existing tasks have been carefully mapped to their corresponding new tasks. Some tasks may be split into multiple tasks to offer greater granularity, while others may be consolidated to simplify your workflow. The progress you've made on your existing tasks will be seamlessly transferred to these new tasks, so you can continue your journey without missing a beat. And don't worry, your custom tasks will remain unchanged.
Policies and Policy Content
The Content 6 upgrade brings you a range of fresh policies designed to bolster your cybersecurity posture. To ensure you don't accidentally overwrite custom content, we've made it a user-driven process to upgrade your policies. By merging your existing policies with the new ones, you can quickly integrate the latest compliance requirements while safeguarding your unique policies.
The Upgrade Process
Tasks
With the addition of new tasks, new projects will be created based on these tasks. As for the old projects, they might persist if no new tasks are available to replace the existing ones. This particularly applies to custom tasks. If you have custom projects, they'll remain unchanged to maintain your unique project structure.
Policies and Policy Content
To upgrade your policies, you will need to take action. Merging your existing policies with the new ones is the key. By following the merge process, you'll bridge the old and the new, ensuring your policies remain customized to your organization's specific needs.
The Content 6 upgrade embodies our commitment to providing you with the most current, effective, and user-friendly cybersecurity and privacy management tools. With fresh organizational controls, upgraded tasks, and a host of new policies, you're poised to navigate the complex cybersecurity landscape with confidence and precision. Don't hesitate to embrace this upgrade—it's your gateway to a more secure and efficient cybersecurity and privacy management journey.

What is being upgraded?
Content 6 ushers in a comprehensive upgrade encompassing tasks, organizational controls, and policies, significantly enhancing the scope and effectiveness of your cybersecurity and privacy management.
How do we merge policies?
For a detailed guide on merging policies in Carbide, please refer to our help desk article: Upgrading Policies in Carbide: The Merging Process. This resource provides step-by-step instructions to ensure your policy content stays current and in compliance with the latest cybersecurity and privacy regulations.
What happens if we decide to keep our old policies?
If you choose to retain your old policies, it's important to note that both your old and new policies will coexist in your account. However, the new policies will remain inactive until you merge them with your existing ones. Please be aware that new features and frameworks are designed to work seamlessly with the new policies. Therefore, until you complete the merging process, some features may not function as intended. To fully leverage the latest capabilities and ensure the proper functioning of the platform, we recommend merging your old policies with the new ones as soon as possible.
Where are my old policies archived?
Once your policies have been successfully merged, you can conveniently access an archive of your old policies right from the Policy Manager. Simply navigate to the Policy Manager and find the context menu at the top right of the page to access your archived policies.
Will our past policy sign-off history be saved?
Absolutely, your past policy sign-off history is preserved. Not only will it be retained, but you can also access it when generating sign-off reports for your new policies through the document center.
Will we be able to roll back to the previous version if we mess up the policy merge?
There's no option to roll back to previous policy versions. However, your old and new policies are always accessible, so there's little risk of messing up the merge. If you ever feel dissatisfied with your new policies, rest assured that you have the flexibility to customize them as you see fit.
What will happen to our completed tasks?
The completion of your old tasks informs the progress of your new tasks, especially when there is a clear relationship between them. For each old task corresponding to a new task, we'll transfer all assignees to ensure a smooth transition. If all assignees successfully completed the relevant old tasks tied to the new one, their assignment will be marked as completed. Once this process is complete, the old tasks will be archived.
What will happen to our custom tasks and policies?
Your custom tasks and policies are here to stay even after the upgrade. However, please keep in mind that any custom objects that were mapped to the old Organizational Controls will need to be remapped to the new organizational controls to ensure they continue to align correctly with your compliance efforts.
Will our evidence remain connected to our completed tasks?
Evidence that was linked to your old tasks will now be associated with the new tasks that the old ones were mapped to. For evidence that wasn't linked to tasks, it won't have control mappings, so you'll need to map it manually to your new Organizational Controls.
Will there be an additional cost in my plan for upgrading my content?
No, upgrading carries no additional charges, and it will not result in any changes to your subscription costs.
